Princess Lexi

Lexi was invited to a Princess Birthday Party today. This is a first for both of us, her first party without me there and her first exposure to "Princess". She has a couple of Princess books but prefers her other books. We mostly watch Veggie Tales and they really don't ever talk about Princesses. I told her she would be best to wear a dress today, but she insisted that her blue jeans, t-shirt, and cowgirl boots would be just fine! Right before we left I warned her that the other girls may all be wearing dresses and that I didn't mind her wearing her cowgirl outfit.... She decided to change into a skort and t-shirt and sandals. Still no jewlery, no hairties. She did like the make-up and the french braids, and the curling iron thing. When I picked her up from the party I noticed that a lot of the other girls had swapped princess dresses (these were the real things, fancy dresses). I asked her if she had tried on a princess dress and she said no. On the way home she informed me that she did not want to be a princess. Well princess or no princess I think the party tuckered her out!! So here my little "princess" sleeps, just don't tell her that I called her a princess! :-)
