Her Party started out with a bang (thunderstorms). As all of the guests arrived it was POURING down rain. Not exactly ideal for this party I have planned EVERYTHING to be outside. (Now don't get me wrong, I had checked the weather all week to be sure I didn't need a different plan. The Severe Thunderstorm Warning did not show up until Saturday...) We started the festivities out by planting a flower into a pot the kids had a chance to decorate.

Lexi's Garden Tea Birthday Party
A few years ago Lexi went to a birthday party for a friend that was a Princess Tea Party. It was fun and elegant! Lexi has never quit talking about that party! Last year for Lexi's birthday I picked her up a Tea Party book. In the book it details out 8-10 different parties. It shows you how to do the invitation, which games to play, what to serve, and what to have for party favors. (my kind of book) For Lexi's Birthday her and I picked out the Garden Tea Party. I liked this one for a few different reasons. 1) it wasn't to fancy 2) you serve lemonade instead of tea 3) Lexi loves everything about gardens 4) it was so cute!

After that we had a balloon blowing up party. (Done raining, very wet outside!!) The girls were having a blast blowing up the balloons and then letting them flutter around!! :-) Then I gave them the sheets and bags for a scavenger hunt around the yard looking for garden stuff (leaves, acorns, pine branches, rocks, that kind of thing!) While the girls did the scavenger hunt I set up the table for the tea party. I had to take it all down as the storm was blowing in!! We did tea cakes and butterfly cookies first then had birthday cake.
Lexi asked me to make the cake. I didn't feel like I had the time to get a cake made. She hated the idea of a store making it (awww). After she picked out the cake at the bakery she told me she would like a cake from that store every year!!
These three girls are in Kindergarten together. They are the only girls in their class and you can tell they are developing quite the bond. This picture is actually after the party when the second storm was blowing in. Lexi said she needed a video to take her mind off of the thunder. Silly Girl.
Overall Lexi had a great Friends Birthday Party. Hopefully she can have a wonderful birthday tomorrow at school!! Cupcakes are made!
