Mommy Magic
I painted Lexi's fingernails for the first time today. I never have before just because of her addiction to her thumb. I haven't been so sure I wanted the paint flakes being ingested. So I guess I pushed the fears aside and decided to do it today. After her bath tonight her nails were no longer pretty, so I told her we would have to remove the polish and replace it tomorrow sometime. When I removed the polish off the first nail, her jaw dropped and she gasped and then says, "wow". You have to love the stage when they are so amazed at everything that you do. Do you think that could continue until she is 13? Yeah, probably not!

What fun! Anika loves to get her fingernails painted - and I've also worried about her ingesting any toxic substances so I've resigned myself to not painting her thumbs. (Since she can tend to switch thumbs sometimes, I don't do either of them!) I've found the polish doesn't last long on any of her fingers anyway.
